Our experience and training guarantee a highly trained and qualified team. On occasion, even with all of our experience and care, an item may get damaged. That’s why we at Fastway Moving offer additional insurance for your things. So, if any type of accident does occur, we are able to resolve it quickly, making sure that you are satisfied with the entire process!

The process is explained below:

  • The Insurance Process

    Exclusive: The customer’s container is weighed at the port, and the final weight is listed on the Bill of Lading (BL). If the weight exceeds the minimum listed for the insurance, the customer will be informed. For full insurance coverage, the amount insured should be at least $ 6 per pound. Insurance must be purchased within 24 hours of loading the move onto the container.

    Door-to-Door: All-risk insurance is offered and recommended for customers to be fully covered. In this case, Fastway will do all packing and unpacking, and the customer can insure all items in the move. The customer is responsible for providing Fastway with a detailed list of all insured items and their respective costs.

    To give our customers a better idea of how much insurance will cost, we conducted a study of average weights and prepared the following list:

    20’ CT SD – Minimum $50,000
    40’ CT SD – Minimum $70,000
    40’ CT High – Minimum $100,000
    Deductible in the event of damage: $500.00

    Port-to-Door / Port-to-Port: Whenever the customer packs and loads the move, the only insurance available is “total loss”, which only covers a total loss of the move.
    The minimum insurance according to the rules is still the same: $6/lb
    Deductible in the event of damage: $500.00

    Consolidated: All-risk insurance is offered and recommended for customers to be fully covered. In this case, Fastway will do all packing and unpacking, and the customer can insure all items in the move. The customer is responsible for providing Fastway with a detailed list of all insured items and their respective costs.
    The minimum insurance according to the rules is still the same: $6/lb
    Deductible in the event of damage: $500.00

    Individual items cannot be insured on their own.

    PBO Consolidated: We do not offer options to insure moves that have not been packed by Fastway Moving’s team.

    Extending Insurance:     If a customer wishes to store belongings in a warehouse at the destination, they must notify Fastway Moving so that it can extend the insurance. The cost for extending insurance will be passed on to the customer.

  • Insurance for local and interstate moves

    Basic coverage: offered by the company, $0.60/pound, it covers losses and damages, and the customer won’t be charged anything else. This option isn’t considered insurance.
    “All Risk” insurance is 3% of the estimated value of your belongings, with a $1000.00 deductible. (This is the only insurance option)
